Pointer is an AI writing assistant that integrates directly into Google Docs using the platform's native Suggestions feature. It allows users to describe edits in plain English, after which Pointer reads the document, understands the context, and creates precise edits that appear as standard Google Docs Suggestions—with additions underlined and deletions crossed out. Each suggestion includes an explanation, enabling users to accept or reject changes one by one or all at once, similar to reviewing a colleague's work. Pointer preserves document formatting such as headers, lists, tables, and styles, and supports voice commands for hands-free editing. It works with over 35 languages, including non-Latin scripts. The tool is powered by Anthropic's Claude model.
