Amica is a private, open-source, and fully customizable 3D avatar that communicates via natural voice chat and vision. It features an emotion engine with fourteen different emotions and animations, and an automated subconscious system (Amica Life) that allows the avatar to get bored, engage, share thoughts, and sleep if ignored. Users can customize the voice, personality, graphics, and upgrade the AI model. Amica supports integration with various AI tools and services, including Piper and Ollama, and can run locally for privacy. The public demo uses OpenChat 3.5 (based on Mistral 7B), XTTSv2 for voice, and Whisper Tiny for transcription. Amica is designed to be easy to use for non-developers and is licensed under MIT.
