Yes, Chrome's enhanced autofill can pull details from your Gmail, like order numbers, tracking information and flight bookings, and suggest them when you fill in online forms. To turn it off on a computer, open Chrome Settings, go to Autofill and passwords, choose Enhanced autofill, and switch off "Find and fill with Gemini." That stops the Chrome suggestions.
If you want to disconnect Gemini from your Gmail more broadly, there's a separate Google Workspace switch in Gemini's Connected Apps settings. Google hasn't said whether one flips the other, so pick the one that matches what you actually want, or flip both.
What does Chrome enhanced autofill pull from your Gmail?
As of November 2026, Google says Chrome enhanced autofill uses Gmail details such as orders, tracking information, flights and vehicles to suggest form entries, powered by Gemini with Personal Intelligence. Google announced the feature on October 28, 2026.
In Google's words from its Chrome announcement: "Using Gemini with Personal Intelligence, it can surface details like order numbers, tracking information, and flight bookings, right when you need them." Think of it as a clerk who flips to the right receipt the moment a form asks for it.
What that looks like day to day (our illustrations, not Google's examples):
- A return form asks for your order number. Chrome offers the one from your order confirmation email.
- A delivery query wants a tracking number. Chrome suggests it from the shipping email.
- A check-in page asks for flight details. Chrome pulls them from your booking confirmation.
You can spot these suggestions by the Gemini spark icon in the autofill dropdown, according to Chrome Help.
On privacy, Google says sensitive data is encrypted and that you can manage whether enhanced autofill is on and what it can access in Chrome settings. Google hasn't published a full list of what it can or can't read beyond those named categories, so don't assume more or less than that.
How do I turn off Chrome enhanced autofill from Gmail?
On a computer, open Chrome Settings, go to Autofill and passwords, then Enhanced autofill, and switch off "Find and fill with Gemini," per Chrome Help (November 2026). This is the switch for the Chrome feature itself.
Step by step:
- Open Chrome Settings.
- Select Autofill and passwords.
- Under Autofill settings, choose Enhanced autofill.
- Turn "Find and fill with Gemini" off (you can switch it back on later).
These are the computer steps. Chrome Help's autofill page covers Android and iOS separately.
Not sure whether yours is on right now? Go and look. Google hasn't published whether "Find and fill with Gemini" starts on or off once you're eligible, so a quick peek beats guessing.
How do I disconnect Gemini from my Gmail more broadly?
To cut Gemini off from your Gmail beyond Chrome forms, disconnect Google Workspace in Gemini's Connected Apps settings; Google says Workspace covers your content in Gmail, Calendar and Drive, and you can change connected apps at any time. This is separate from the Chrome toggle above.
Google's Gemini Apps Help page on connected apps lists the controls. Here's how they compare:
| Switch | Where it lives | What Google says it does | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| "Find and fill with Gemini" | Chrome Settings > Autofill and passwords > Enhanced autofill | Turns enhanced autofill on or off in Chrome | Keeping Gemini, dropping Gmail-based form suggestions |
| Google Workspace (Connected Apps) | Gemini's Connected Apps settings | Disconnects Gemini from your content in Gmail, Calendar and Drive | Cutting Gemini off from your inbox, calendar and files |
| Personal Intelligence (per chat) | Inside a Gemini chat | Turns it off for that chat; a new chat starts with it on by default | A single sensitive conversation |
| "Smart features in other Google products" | Google's smart features setting | When off, Gemini Apps can't connect to Google Workspace | Blocking Gemini Apps from connecting to Google Workspace |
One honest caveat: Google's pages don't say whether disconnecting Workspace in Gemini also switches off enhanced autofill in Chrome, or the other way round. If you want both gone, flip both switches rather than trusting one to cover the other.
And don't lean on the per-chat option for lasting privacy. Turning Personal Intelligence off in one chat doesn't carry over, because Google says a new chat starts with it on.
How do I see which email a suggestion came from?
In Chrome on a computer, hover over the Gemini suggestion in the autofill dropdown and select the link to the original source; the email opens in Gmail in a new tab, according to Chrome Help.
This is your quick sanity check before you hit submit. Say Chrome offers flight details on a check-in form and the date looks off. One hover and one click shows you whether it grabbed last year's trip instead of this one.
Does removing a suggestion delete my email?
No. Chrome Help says removing a suggestion from Chrome doesn't delete the original email, but deleting the original email does remove the suggestion.
To remove one, hover over the Gemini suggestion and select Remove from Chrome. Google suggests this for info you don't want to see or that's outdated. You can't fix a wrong detail inside Chrome, because info pulled from Gmail can't be edited there.
| You do this | The email in Gmail | The suggestion in Chrome |
|---|---|---|
| Select "Remove from Chrome" | Stays | Gone |
| Delete the email in Gmail | Gone | Gone |
| Try to edit the suggestion in Chrome | Stays | Can't be edited |
So if an old order email keeps feeding a stale suggestion, you choose: remove the suggestion and keep the email, or delete the email and lose both.
Why don't I see enhanced autofill in Chrome?
As of November 2026, Chrome enhanced autofill only appears for Gemini in Chrome users in the US who are 18 or older and have opted into Gemini Personal Intelligence. Miss any one of those, and the feature simply won't show up.
Personal Intelligence (Gemini's option to use your Google apps to personalize answers) brings its own requirements. Run down this checklist:
| Requirement | What you need | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Country | United States (rollout is beginning in the U.S.) | Google Chrome blog, Chrome Help |
| Region for Personal Intelligence | Not available in the EEA, Nigeria, Switzerland or the UK for now | Gemini Apps Help |
| Age | 18 or older | Chrome Help, Gemini Apps Help |
| Account type | A personal Google Account, not work, school or supervised | Gemini Apps Help |
| Gemini in Chrome | You use Gemini in Chrome | Chrome Help |
| Personal Intelligence | You've opted in | Chrome Help |
| Keep Activity | Turned on (Personal Intelligence isn't available when it's off) | Gemini Apps Help |
| Device | Desktop, Android or iOS | Google Chrome blog, Chrome Help |
| Rollout timing | Personal Intelligence is released gradually and may not have reached you yet | Gemini Apps Help |
Ticked every box and still nothing? The last row is the likely reason. Google describes the rollout as "beginning," and it hasn't published a date for when everyone eligible will have it.

Does enhanced autofill work with a work or school Google account?
No. Enhanced autofill requires Personal Intelligence, and Google's Gemini Apps Help says Personal Intelligence isn't available when you sign in with a work, school or supervised Google Account.
So if you browse with your company login, you won't get Gmail-powered form suggestions from that account. You'd need a personal Google Account that isn't supervised, and it still has to clear every other row in the checklist above.
What is Google still not saying about enhanced autofill?
As of November 2026, Google's announcement and help pages leave several practical questions unanswered. Here's what we couldn't find in the official pages we checked:
- Default setting: whether "Find and fill with Gemini" starts on or off.
- Full scope: what it can or can't read beyond the named examples (orders, tracking, flights, vehicles).
- Retention: how long the pulled data is kept.
- Incognito: whether Incognito windows are excluded for this feature.
- Rollout end: when the US rollout will be complete.
Until Google fills these gaps, check the toggle yourself and use "Remove from Chrome" on anything you'd rather not see.
Do this next
Pick the path that matches how you feel about Gmail in your forms:
- Pick "keep it" if you like the convenience. Leave the toggle on, and when a suggestion looks wrong, hover and open the source email before you submit.
- Pick "Chrome only off" if you still want Gemini's help elsewhere but not in your forms. Go to Settings > Autofill and passwords > Enhanced autofill and switch off "Find and fill with Gemini."
- Pick "both off" if you want to switch off both the Chrome form suggestions and Gemini's connection to your Gmail. Switch off the Chrome toggle, then disconnect Google Workspace in Gemini's Connected Apps settings.
